Re-posting Policy

On this blog I share information that I find helpful for my work as a story artist. This can be information on filmmaking, drawing, storyboarding, visual storytelling, etc.

To me this blog is primarily a personal collection of information. Some of it I made or wrote myself, other stuff comes from other blogs, websites or social media. These are things that I find useful in my never ending struggle to grow as a story artist. And because I have always greatly enjoyed other artists who share their knowledge, I keep my collection on this publicly accessible platform.

There is a practical reason for that too. Through the years I have seen a lot of blogs with great articles disappear when the artists moved to a different platform (i.e. from blogger to tumblr, or from tumblr to instagram). Other artists changed their profession and deleted their blogs. And information spread out over threads of twitter or instagram posts can be very hard to find back.

Sometimes it can feel a bit weird to share posts or articles that were created by someone else. But my intention has never been to get likes or views that would otherwise have gone to the creators. I share because I have always greatly enjoyed other artists who share their knowledge, and I want to make sure that knowledge doesn't disappear. On this blog I share posts and articles that are otherwise gone or out of practical reach; from blogs that no longer exist, accounts that have been inactive for years, or threads that are practically impossible to find back. And I always do my utmost to link back to the original creators.

If a creator has a problem with their work being shared here, I hope they reach out. I would rather take something down than have anyone feel their work was taken from them.
